Meine Liebe zur Kunst hängte ich nur vorübergehend für den elterlichen Betrieb an den Nagel und entschied mich für eine kaufmännische Ausbildung anstelle der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie. Heute bin ich froh um die erlernten Business Skills, die mir in jeder Lebenslage nützlich sind. Über die Werbe- und Filmbranche kam ich schließlich zur Kunst zurück, dieses Mal zur Schauspielerei und zum Theater. Der Leidenschaft blieb ich in meinem Studium der Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft treu, belegte die Nebenfächer Theater und Filmwissenschaft, Psychologie und Politik. Während meiner Studienzeit an der FU Berlin begann ich neben Kellner- und Produktionsjobs ein Praktikum beim bilingualen Independent Magazin Style and the Family Tunes, bei dem ich lange bleiben sollte. Nach Stationen in der Kultur, Mode und Musik leitete ich das Ressort Better than Fiction für nachhaltige und zukunftsorientierte Themen, später auch das Online-Magazin Stylemag. Anschließend baute ich rund zweieinhalb Jahre das Mode- und Lifestyle-Magazin Stylebook und Stylebook men im Axel Springer Verlag mit auf, reiste zu internationalen Fashion Weeks und besuchte Fortbildungen. Inzwischen arbeite ich als selbständige Journalistin, Autorin, Lektorin, Veranstalterin und Beraterin für diverse Agenturen (Intu, Room26), Medien wie Der Spiegel, Elle, L’Officiel und Eco Twin, KundInnen wie das KaDeWe, Vestiaire Collective, National Geographic, Original in Berlin und in der Trendforschung. Mit meiner Familie lebe ich in Kalifornien und Berlin und beschäftige mich mit den Themen Mid Century Modern, amerikanischer Lifestyle, Mode, Nachhaltigkeit, Longevity und Biohacking. I only temporarily put my love for art aside to work for my parents‘ business, opting for a commercial apprenticeship instead of attending the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Today, I’m grateful for the business skills I learned, which are useful in every situation. I eventually returned to art via the advertising and film industries, this time acting and theater. I stayed true to my passion throughout my studies in journalism and communication studies, minoring in theater and film studies, psychology, and politics. During my studies at the Freie Universität of Berlin, in addition to waitress and production jobs, I began an internship at the bilingual independent magazine Style and the Family Tunes, where I would stay for a long time. After stints in culture, fashion, and music, I headed the Better than Fiction department for sustainable and future-oriented topics, and later also the online magazine Stylemag. I then spent around two and a half years helping to build up the fashion and lifestyle magazines Stylebook and Stylebook men at Axel Springer Verlag, traveling to international fashion weeks, and attending continuing education courses. I am now a freelance journalist, author, editor, event organizer, and consultant for various agencies (Intu, Room26), media outlets such as Der Spiegel, Elle, L’Officiel, and Eco Twin, clients such as KaDeWe, Vestiaire Collective, National Geographic, Original in Berlin, and in trend research. I am now living with my family in California and Berlin, working in the fields of mid-century modern, the American lifestyle, fashion, sustainability, longevity and biohacking.
